1986

Exhibition at the Ferdinand von Steinbeis School in Reutlingen

Roland Koch presented the first hand-made models at local vocational schools.

The cutaway models were produced using angle grinder, files and hacksaw. Perspex models were not printed and the individual moving parts were cut out using a jigsaw.

The company HAKO-Lehrmittel was established.


1987

HAKO-Lehrmittel was registered

To be able to produce professional overhead models, drawings were prepared and the first machines were purchased.


1988

The first finished Perspex models

A production facility was set up in the garage. The first black and white catalogue was created with around 20 models.

Roland Koch worked hard on building further models so that the second catalogue (this time in colour) could be sent out.


1991

The first cutaway models

The production facility was extended to include the carport and greenhouse. HAKO-Lehrmittel exhibited at the Didacta Trade Fair in Düsseldorf.


1993

From garage to company premises

The company moved into an industrial building allowing engine test benches to be set up in the new production workshop.


1996

Bastian Koch

The company’s current owner, Bastian Koch, joined the company.


2008

New generation

Bastian Koch took over the company.

Company headquarters in Kusterdingen-Wankheim

The company moved to a new production facility in the enterprise zone.
